What is and is not expected in the Dojo

Etiquette and respect for one another is a central part of the way we train at The Dragon Foundation.

Dojo etiquette is to be followed at all times - inside the dojo, the sports centre where the student is training and on the way to and from lessons.
All senior black belt instructors are "Sensei".
Always respect your Sensei. S/he is there to help and guide you.

Always bow as you enter and as you leave the dojo. A bow will begin and end each training session and may be appropriate at other times during your training.

Further etiquette
There should be no unnecessary talking during the training session.
If you need to leave the dojo whilst others are training, please do so quietly - again so that you do not disturb the concentration of others. Children will not be permitted to leave the dojo unaccompanied.
There will be no swearing, spitting, eating or chewing in the dojo.
There will be no "horse-play" or messing around before, during or after the lesson.
If you have a mobile phone, please switch it off before coming into the dojo.

Karate students are expected to show appropriate respect all members of the staff and members of public at the school at all times.
